Be-a-Famous writer contest

Isn’t it magical when a child’s imagination can soar? That’s what we love most about creative writing…there are no limits or boundaries with the freedom to create! And what we love most about Mrs. P’s Magical Library is their annual “Be-a-Famous Writer” contest. Actor Kathy Kinney and the MrsP.com team are devoted to helping kids find joy in reading and listening to great stories, and learn to love being their own storytellers.

The annual contest is for classrooms K-4th grade (so parents tell your child’s teacher about it) and is FREE to enter:

  • October 15, 2017 entries can be submitted
  • December 15, 2017 contest closes
  • January 30, 2018 winners are announced

MrsP.com Be-a-Famous Writer contestThis year, Mrs. P invites your class to write a story on the topic of DRAGONS, no less than 250 words and not to exceed 1,000 words. It may be fiction or non-fiction. Any classroom from Kindergarten through 4th grade may enter. Just one story per classroom! It can be a collaborative story, or you can have your class vote on which child’s story to enter. And there’s no database to enter or permission slips to sign. Teachers just email the story to MrsPstorytime (at) gmail (dot) com.

There is a special page for teachers with all the details in one place so you can make sure your child’s classroom is entered.

One lucky classroom will have their story made into a video for Mrs. P’s You-Tube Magic Library!

Winning classrooms also win wonderful books in every format from these sponsors: Mackin Education Resources, Cantata Learning, Tales2GO and Powell’s Books. Plus there are other fun prizes to inspire young writers, see details on the prize page.

Who will be reading and choosing this year’s winners? None other than the amazing children’s book author, Josh Funk, and Matthew Winner, a teacher, librarian and podcaster at All the Wonders.

So what are you waiting for? Let your child’s (or students) imaginations soar to new heights!
