New Weighted Blankets for Special Needs by Harkla Coming Soon
Description

We often talk about supporting children with autism, sensory processing dysfunction, ADHD, and other diagnoses, but children grow up to be adults, and often continue to need ongoing therapeutic support. Weighted blankets can help support the needs of children and adults alike.

The benefits of weighted blankets can be found through the effects of Deep Touch Pressure (DTP). DTP increases the levels of serotonin, therefore decreasing nervous system activity and the levels of anxiety and stress. DTP has also been shown to improve sleep and increase focus.

Harkla is proud to provide 5-pound and 7-pound blankets to children who need them. They have now decided that it is time to expand their line of weighted blankets to 10, 15, 20, and 25 pound blankets so more people can benefit!

To do this, they have launched a Kickstarter campaign. They are using the Kickstarter platform because they feel it is the fastest way to get larger sized blankets in the hands of those who need them. By using Kickstarter, they can afford to launch their new blankets and colors all at once, and they would know exactly how many people want each size and each color. The early bird pricing for lighter blankets (5, 7, 10 lbs) is priced at $100, and the heavier ones (15, 20, 25 lbs)  are priced at $160. They are expected to ship by November 2017.

Watch  the video below to learn more about the campaign, and check out their Kickstarter campaign here.
